About Me

Hey there! My name is Cate and after graduating from college in 2015, I moved to Chicago and have been here since!

I described my senior year of college as the “season of ambiguity” because I had no idea what was next. Ironically, since I graduated, I’ve come to accept that it’s not just a season. The twenties are a time in our lives that are full of uncertainty and unknowns and I don’t think that’s going to change any time soon.

While I am currently just another twentysomething trying to figure out life for myself, I hope that this blog can be a comfort to you knowing you are not alone in different challenges, joys and experiences that you may face.

You can learn a lot about me by reading my posts, but here are some fun facts to get you started:

  • I traveled to 5 of the 7 continents by the age of 17
  • I almost majored in painting
  • I studied abroad in Florence, Italy
  • I ran the Chicago Marathon in 2016
  • I’m working on a coffee shop guide so if you need recommendations in Chicago, hit me up!

Now that you know a bit about me, you also need to know that my blog will often contain components of my faith, which is at the core of who I am. My relationship with God is just that – a relationship. I talk to him, spend time with him, love him, question him, and continue to desire to learn more about letting go of myself and trusting God completely.

As I see more of my mess and brokenness, I am able to grow in my knowledge and experience of His grace. I’ve learned how there is beauty in our brokenness, and that’s what directs this blog.

This blog is raw. This blog is vulnerable. This blog is real.

This is not where you’ll find Instagram-perfect images and captions. I will be real with you, embracing how we are all a little broken, and speak from a place of vulnerability.

More importantly, my hope is that this blog encourages you to know that you are not alone. You are, in fact, loved.
